The Sectional Titles Schemes Management Act, 2011, which came into effect in October 2016, provides for the appointment by the Magistrates Court of a suitably qualified and independent person to take over the management of a dysfunctional sectional titles scheme.
This two-day workshop provides the training for managing agents, trustees and other persons who wish to obtain a credible qualification illustrating their qualification and training to take up an appointment as a scheme administrator.
Topic 1: Statutory provision for appointment of scheme administrator
Topic 2: Management problems that require scheme administration
Topic 3: Key performance indicators for distressed schemes
Topic 4: Information and actions required to initiate scheme rehabilitation
Topic 5: Financial issues, including contributions, collections, creditor management and levy finance
Topic 6: Dispute resolution, communication and reporting
Topic 7: Analysis of relevant caselaw
Anyone who wishes to be appointed as the administrator of a dysfunctional sectional titles scheme and wants credible evidence of their training in the law and practice of scheme rehabilitation.
